Welcome to West Pennine Sailboard Club, possibly the best windsurfing club in the North of England. Located in the Pennines above Rochdale, we offer clean wind, cleaner water and a great clubhouse with hot showers. Annual membership is great value with opportunities for board storage and we offer day sailing for casual members. So if you are learning, still trying to crack that carve gybe or need somewhere to practice your flakas, get in touch and come for a sail.

A few members are planning a visit to Fleetwood on Sat 31st. Low tide is 9.22am BST and forecast is W F4. Best to sail there a couple of hours either side of low tide. An early start then! Use Shoutbox if you're joining them.

Good range of weblinks added to 'Other Useful Links', courtesy of Andy Williams.

About 10 sailed on Sun 25th July. Light W wind - just enough to plane sometimes. Several out on longboards.

Good 7.5m planing conditions in ESE F4/3 for Thursday's Club Night, though not so many members took advantage this week - must have been the 9kt forecast.

We're officially posh now, with our new flagpole (well okay, it's an aluminium mast!) and choice of RRD and Tushingham flags. Another thanks to Andy Pepper!

Our shore-based practice area  is now up and running – thanks to Mike Pole for the steel plate he fabricated especially. This is now hung on the wall just inside the steel roller door. Just remove the nut from your UJ and screw it into the plate, then practise waterstarts, stance, whatever. Ably demonstrated by Andy Whale aka ORCA below (and Ethan demonstrates mowing).

Andy Pepper has installed a solar panel custom built by David Kerr to help with power to the webcam. Andy's now working to resolve some reliability/power problems.

Our first afternoon video session on Sunday 11th July was successful.

Weather sites - top tips!

This section should help newer members and visitors .... and maybe a few older members too. It explains how to make the most of the links to the right above here   click

Misplaced Kit

Please take all kit home or leave it in a board slot you've paid for. We don't have room for stray stuff, so it tends to get in everyone's way. Thanks!

Magazines

If you've finished with any recent windsurfing magazines please leave them in the rack in the Club room.
