Turn north off the M62 at Junction 21 which is signposted to Milnrow and Shaw. Take the northbound A640 Rochdale Rd towards Milnrow. After half a mile you will come to a set of traffic lights; go straight ahead.

The road continues through Firgrove until it comes down beside a church to a second set of traffic lights. Turn right here onto the A664 Albert Royds St. Carry on to a roundabout where you turn right onto the A58 Halifax road signposted to Halifax and Todmorden. Keep in the left-hand lane and stay in it when it becomes the priority lane for a left turn at the next roundabout to Wardle village.

Follow the road up the hill, winding through the village of Wardle, past all the houses until the road becomes cobbled. At the end of the cobbled road is a car park for visitors to Watergrove park. At the Right hand end of the car park there is a gate leading to a stoney road. Go through the gate, shutting it after you, and follow the road till you get to the clubhouse and sailing area.
