Built in the 1980s out of local stone under a slate roof, the one-storey clubhouse blends into the dry stone walls and green pasture of Watergrove - one 'wing' of the clubhouse is the park Ranger's office.
The main building includes mens and womens changing rooms, each equipped with toilets, hot showers, heaters, clothes hooks and benches. The club room has a wood burning stove, a bar, stools chairs and tables. For those not in wetsuits there is a pool table and upholstered seats in an alcove with a window overlooking the lake. Photographs and mementoes decorate the room which comes alive on race evenings; people eating beefburger and chips, drinking pints of lager and each giving their own interpretation of the race.
The clubhouse includes a substantial storage area where the safety boat is kept and members can store boards and other gear for a small annual fee. Immediately in front of the clubhouse is a walled and paved patio overlooking the lake which comes into it's own on barbecue nights. Between the clubhouse and the water is a flat grassed area that is ideal for rigging up.
The car park is covered in aggregate and is broken into three sections separated by low bushes. There is a rigging area close to all the car parks and only a few feet from the water - no long treks down muddy paths or across shingle beaches, no rigging up on sand or concrete!
